I love how he’s looking at Sam even though Sam’s not looking back. And how he doesn’t have to look at what he’s doing because taking care of Sam is instinctual. But also he doesn’t wanna look away from Sam because he almost lost him and he’s just so happy and relieved that he didn’t.

And in that moment Dean looks so very young. He looks like season 1 Dean again. He has his purpose, and he has his brother, because he rescued him, and they’re going to make it, together.. (How the heck does Jensen manage to look that young?)

#the way he’s biting his lip in the 1st gif like if he just looks close enough he’ll see Dean’s chest rising and falling #he’ll find a pulse and he’ll wake up and this’ll all have been a bad dream and then in the 2nd one you see him just giving up— giving in

this scene always gives me chills because jared’s acting is spot on- just a boy again, just a boy who’s lost his older brother, the man he put on a pedestal and never felt he could fit in dean’s shoes. A boy who’s lost his only family, because there wasn’t enough time, because he couldn’t find a loophole to get out of it this time and all you see is raw grief and pain and desperation.
